How to spend your energy wisely in the next 6 months

When I’m writing this blog it’s the 21st of June 2021, start of summer. Which also means we’re almost halfway through the year. Where has time gone?

Luckily, we’re currently living in better times than 6 months ago. The Covid infections go down, many of us are fully vaccinated and planning a holiday abroad.

I always think the summer holidays are the perfect moment to reflect (maybe you set yourself some New Year’s resolutions) and to think about how you want to spend your time and energy in the second half of the year.

Spend your energy wisely

Especially now, coming out of a lockdown period, I think it’s a good moment to reflect and set yourself some mid-year resolutions.

For example, some of us are super excited to be able to interact again with many people and want to focus on attending as many face-to-face events. While others feel some ‘out of lockdown anxiety’ and aren’t looking forward to go back to the office. They want to focus on creating a good balance between working from home and in the office.

Your energy is your currency

Your energy is your currency, so spend it wisely in the next 6 months.
I would love you to set yourself 3 mid-year resolutions.

Here are a couple of questions to help you with that:

  • What do you love about the past 6 months?
  • What have you missed in the past 6 months?
  • What have you learned?
  • What do you want to keep from the lockdown?
  • What would you like to achieve in the next months?
  • What do you want to stop doing?
  • What are your non-negotiables for the next 6 months?
  • What fun things would you like to do?

Write your 3 resolutions down and pin them somewhere in front of you.

Recommit every day

By seeing them every day you recommit to what’s important for you again and again. This will help your brain to keep you focused and you’re more likely to take the actions necessary to create this for yourself.

And in one of my next blogs I’ll share some other ideas which will help you to stay committed to your resolutions when your holidays are over so that you won’t get caught in all the other things you need to do on a weekly basis.

Oh yes, and here are my 3 mid-year resolutions:

  1. Achieving my goal for the second launch of my online course ‘The ReNew your Work Life Support Kit’.
  2. Training for the Brighton Marathon with my running group (and finishing it ;))
  3. ‘Slow family bubble time’ in the weekends.

I would love to hear yours in the comments.

Wishing you a fun start of summer!
Eefke

PS: Are you considering a change in your work life? Would you like to create clarity on what this next step could be, make confident choices and take powerful steps forwards to make this reality?
If so, I would love to go on this journey with you. As of August I have a couple of spots left for new clients. Just send me a message and we plan a call to explore further.
